During the Civil War, there were two photographers from Richmond JW and WW Davies. They were so Pro Southern and Pro Confederate that they named their business after Robert E Lee. The logo you see on the building is extremely rare even tho there is an example of an envelope dated 1875 from these brothers and their business, 10 years after the end of the war. I'm lucky enough to have a photo fron the Civil War era with this backmark on it. I have never seen another one. Here are some shots of my latest creation.
