Greetings ledheads,
Last April I put up my one armed Confederate Colonel that I purchased from Architects of War. He was by far my favorite Confederate officer. After going back to it on the blog, I thought I would pull him out of the cabinet and put him back on the table. He was nowhere to be found. There were only a couple of places he could be, either on the table or in the drawer...he was nowhere. This was very upsetting because I know where just about everything is. I came to the realization that someone stole him. I have a few ideas on who it was, but can't prove it. Why someone would take this is beyond me.
Everytime I went to the basement, I started looking for it, wasting time and becoming obsessed in finding the miniature. I finally decided to go back to the Architects of War and buy another one. I might nail it to the table just so it doesn't disappear. Anyways here are a few shots of the new one armed Colonel. The flag is hand painted and varnished.
Nice figure but a sad tale of theft!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran...the only person that was ever in my basement alone was the man who reads the meters...I can't prove anything so I'll just have to let it go.
DeleteGood work, I love the light effect in the grass , beautiful flag
ReplyDeleteCheers
Captain Lol
Thank you Captain...what I use is ballast and 4 shades of greens and yellows.
DeleteAbsolutly beautiful...the thief has taste...sorry for you, but great work Captain!
ReplyDeleteThank you Phil
DeleteI imagine someone like that would think "he can't possibly miss one out of so many" - obviously not a gamer or collector which makes it slightly better! Great looking paint job as always...

Thanks Ian, I guess people don't understand the kind of time you put into these miniatures...their not easily forgotten and their not misplaced.
DeleteVery nicely done. Particularly like the flag
ReplyDeleteThank you Brummie
DeleteIf we all keep an eye out on ebay, the thief might try selling it. Fantastic work on the flag.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat, I never thought about Ebay
DeleteVery sad tale Captain.Fantastic work on the replacment though. The flag is particularly good.
ReplyDeleteDo you think this figure based on the one-armed Confederate officer in the movie, The Horse Soldiers?
ReplyDeleteThe maker's Uncivil War line looks movie inspired.
It might be but Im not sure about that...Architects of War does a great job on this series ...Their quite different then most of the other miniatures.
DeleteThanks Rich
ReplyDeleteHunt down the thief like the dog he is and call him out. Stealing a figure is a low thing to do.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, this is a nice dio and that flag really stands out. I like your new banner!
Thanks Anne...If I could prove it I would do just that
DeleteI love this!!

Danged Blue-Belly kidnapper! Nice flag modeling, Capt.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jay
DeleteAn excellent looking figure and what a shame he vanished.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ray...This is the replacement...the one thats gone was set up like this one
ReplyDeleteFantastic work. What a shame the original was pinched. Maybe the cat or dog ate it?
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul...the dogs are too small and the cat wouldn't bother
ReplyDeleteFantastic work.
ReplyDeleteThank you Danny
