| My father died a few years back, during the war he was stationed at Iwo Jima and Guadacanal. A friend of my fathers who was a major during the war got all my fathers medals for him just a few years ago, because the originals never made it home. |

A very fine post with even finer images. You have so many wonderful images on your site, but the photograph of your Father's medals and honours is perhaps very best.
