And now a few things for the World War 2 guys
An end of the war newspaper thats been in my family since 1945.
My father died a few years back, during the war he was stationed at Iwo Jima and Guadacanal. A friend of my fathers who was a major during the war got all my fathers medals for him just a few years ago, because the originals never made it home.
My father carried this map with him the whole time he was in the South Pacific.
A very fine post with even finer images. You have so many wonderful images on your site, but the photograph of your Father's medals and honours is perhaps very best.
Thank you for your comment Captain! But for me, you are a great modeler and also you are more freak then me! With all respect Captain! Great job! Lots of minimum details. Holly Jesus!
Great stuff; says a lot that his friend, an officer, made sure your Dad got his medals - finally. Respects, Dean
ReplyDeleteNice set of medals....he must have seen his share of the action. Nice to finally have such a memento.
ReplyDeleteCheers
