Good question. I have asked twice the same thing (my English bad), just google translation system Still, even though we know, the question is an optical illusion, but not a good explanation of how the depth effect moves/arises to the paper by means.
The paper stone is put on in 3 layers ,one is just the paper the second one , the paper is glued to cardboard, and the third the paper is glued to foamboard giving you 3 different thicknesses. Spackling compound is used over the 3 layers, the effect you will get is different heights to the stone.
Great job once again, Captain. Really great, and looks how easy to make :) My eyes will see and I get it, optical illusion. :)) but my brain do not understand how this effect arise Maybe I am too old (63)
I love your style, Capt. The paper you print out the stone work must be extremely tenacious, as you seemingly give it good workout with your modeling tactics.
BTW: the 11th picture from the top of the page, when I scrolled down and saw it sent be back in time to the early 1950s to a little town in southern Bavaria, Germany! Wow! Looking at the picture reminded me that just around the corner was the town plaza and the movie theater. Thanks!
Looking great- how do you get the textured effect with the stone paper once it is on the tubes?

DeleteThank you for your explanation. It's perfect for now I can understand why / how the effect occurs.
Sometimes when I get excited, I write too much, things that may not always be irrelevant.
You can delete these if they interfere with.
