The ammunition crate is from the Watertown Arsenal in Massachusetts... I actually bought this on Ebay from a person who bought it from an old man who stole it from a movie set in the 50's. So i'm told. The nails and the screws are from the 19th century. If its a reproduction...Its not a new one.
The pistol is another black powder...an 1860 Army 44 cal. I'm starting to get into these things...I think it would be a blast to fire one of these. Anyways this is what I got in the last couple of days, and I might have another 1851 Navy with an antique finish comming if I can win this gun auction tomorrow.
That is so cool! I envy you :D
ReplyDeleteLooks cool - some neat history on the crate too - wonder what movie it was used in? Dean
ReplyDeleteNice gun, do you threaten to use it if anyone cheats during a game??? Are the guns still in working order or are they decommissioned?
ReplyDeleteHey Guys, thanks for the comments...Ray, these guns are brand new and will be fired come spring...I'm not into hunting or anything like that, just anything Civil War. These reproductions are as close as you can get to the real thing.
