Ammunition crates from the Captains room

The photo on top is a crate from the Civil War...the piece nailed to it is a sling swivel from a P1853 British Enfield 
The next three photos are of a Spanish American War .30 Caliber Crate
These final two are photos of a .30 caliber M1906 crate from 1941

    Why is it that we chaps find such items intrinsically fascinating? Lost voices from the past perhaps? The ammunition rondos looks particularly devastating, many thanks for sharing.

    Hey guys thanks for the comments...the ammo crates are some of my best items...they bring you right back to that time period up close and personal.
