A different kind of base

Greetings everyone,
I have a ton of different size frames that aren't being used….trying to figure out how to display this plane with a sturdy base relatively cheap.  A frame is a perfect setting for a larger piece, its flat and the border is already there. I left the  glass in place and just glued a piece of brown craft paper to it. I'm sure this has been done before, but in the 3 years that I've been on here, I've never seen it done. A cheap way of displaying an item and it works.

    1. Without the frame, there would be no use for the glass and It makes the base stronger…I was originally going to take it out but the cardboard back isn't strong enough on its own.

  5. Clever and successful. I would sure like to hear the back story for how this Johnny Reb bird found its way into the ACW.

  6. Thanks Jay, Well you have to go back to the future for this one, found in a field as it crash landed, belonging to the 10th South Carolina Air Force. In 1862 this appears 55 years in the future and goes back to 1862. The south needed all the help that they could get. After all the Union found a Patriot Missile.
