One of the most haunted places in the world

Greetings everyone,
Nothing to do with the Civil War, but I find it most fascinating. My daughter who rides and jumps horses for a living just came back to the states after spending a month with the horses in Europe.
One of the places she stopped in was Paris, and this is one place you have to see, The Catacombs.
Im sure alot of you have been there, but for me being on the other side of the world, Its just something I read about.  Heres a shot she took while she was there.

  2. I visited that in 1998. It is incredible, and interesting how after the initial shock that you get, it eventually wears off after you see so many stacked human bones in dungeon after dungeon after catacomb. Well it did for me.
    cheers

  4. I live in Bath in the UK and they have recently discovered that the foundations of the Abbey are in danger of subsidence because of the settling of huge numbers of bodies buried under the floor. The Abbey is not that big really but they recon 3-4000 people have been buried there over time!

  9. Hi there!
I just stumbled over your blog and found it very interesting.
I don't live very far from Paris and went there 2 weeks ago. There were so many people waiting to visit the catacombs that I got depressed and decided to go somewhere else.
It's a fantastic place. Most people think it's a kind of underground graveyard, but it's actually a place built for the purpose of making you stay in awe, shocked. I have to go there, I'd really like to! ;)

    Nice blog, btw! :)

  12. Hi Shayne...I 'm guessing you've been there...I was supposed to go to France a few years back, but due to a medical condition I had back then it didnt happen and I do regret it.
