Track shots

Greetings everyone,
Coming along with the slot car track, here are the first set of shots. All the scenery is made with Brown craft paper and painted sawdust. Dont know how much farther I'll take this project...got to get back to 1863.

  2. Hi, Capt. The project looks swell. Your track is fantastic. Back in the '60s we only had wooden tracks for racing our slots.

Once a year back then a bunch of us guys would go out to Riverside Raceway and watch Hall's Chaparral and McLaren battle it out on the road racing track. Sweet memories.

    1. thanks Jay, ...seeing a Chaparral and a Mclaren in person must have been quite a treat. I used to camp out at Watkins Glen every year to watch the Historics race.

  4. My cousin and I used to have slot cars when we were kids. My great uncle had an attic that was devoted entirely to slot cars and to trains. He was a woodworker by trade and would put just about anyone here on blogger to shame with his work. Wish I had pics of his stuff. You'd drool at the sight of it all.

  7. Your terrain making skills and fine brushwork has made this a very realistic and probably the best looking track that I have seen Captain. I am going to have to show this to my boy who is all things car mad.
    Cheers,
    Pat.
